The Boston Celtics traded Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers for Anfernee Simons and two second-round picks, reported Shams Charania of ESPN.
Holiday averaged 11.1 points and 4.3 rebounds last season.
Simons, who averaged 19.3 points and 4.8 assists last season, is on an expiring contract and will be an unrestricted free agent in 2026.
The Celtics are projected to have $40 million in tax savings with the trade, according to Bobby Marks. Holiday, who signed a four-year, $134 million extension with the Celtics in April 2024, is owed $32.4 million in 2025-26, $34.8 million in 2026-27 and has a player option for $37.2 million in 2027-28.
The Celtics are getting a 2030 second-rounder from the Knicks and a 2031 second-round pick from the Blazers, according to Jake Fischer.
Charania adds that the Celtics remain engaged in trade talks following the Holiday deal.
