Clint Capela has agreed to a three-year, $21.5 million deal with the Houston Rockets. Capela returns to the Rockets after his trade to the Atlanta Hawks at the trade deadline in 2020. Capela is coming off a two-year, $46 million contract extension signed with the Hawks in 2021.
Capela averaged 8.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.0 blocks in 21.4 minutes across 55 games with the Hawks.
Capela joins Alperen Sengun and Steven Adams at center for the Rockets.
According to Jake Fischer, the Rockets will acquire Capela via a sign-and-trade while sending a 2031 second round pick swap plus cash to the Hawks to facilitate.
