Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks have agreed to a three-year, $119 million deal. Irving is declining his $43 million player option to sign the new contract. Irving's contract was negotiated by Shetellia Riley

Irving is currently rehabilitating a torn ACL suffered in February. Irving turned 33 in March. Executives around the NBA told Shams Charania that Irving was projected to sign for an annual average between $50 million and $60 million prior to his ACL injury.

The Mavericks acquired Irving from the Dallas Mavericks at the trade deadline in 2023 and reached the Finals in 2024. Irving was an All-Star replacement in 2025 and averaged 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists across 50 games.

Because Irving opted out and lowered his salary for next season, the Mavericks will have access to a $5.7 million taxpayer midlevel exception.
