Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Thunder Agree To Four-Year, $285M Extension

Jul 1, 2025 10:06 AM

The Oklahoma City Thunder and MVP guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have agreed to a four-year, $285 million extension. This deal will start with the 2027-28 season, as Gilgeous-Alexander has two years remaining on his current deal. Gilgeous-Alexander will have an opt-out in 2030, which is Year 4 of the extension.

Gilgeous-Alexander qualified for the super max extension because he won the MVP award, while leading the Thunder to the 2025 NBA title. He could have waited a year and added a fifth season, but Gilgeous-Alexander takes the security of locking in super max money now.

Jaylin Williams, Thunder Agree To Three-Year, $24M Extension
