Jock Landale, Grizzlies Agree To Deal

Jul 5, 2025 5:34 PM

Jock Landale and the Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a contract. Landale recently cleared waivers after being let go by the Houston Rockets.

Memphis is trading Jay Huff to the Indiana Pacers, in a deal to create cap space to renegotiate-and-extend Jaren Jackson Jr. That left the Grizzlies shorthanded in the frontcourt as both Jackson and Zach Edey will enter training camp coming off offseason surgeries. Jackson had surgery for turf toe and Edey had surgery on a troublesome ankle.

Landale averaged 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game for the Rockets last season.

Pacers Acquiring Jay Huff From Grizzlies For Second Round Pick, Second Round Pick Swap

Jul 5, 2025 5:28 PM

The Indiana Pacers are acquiring Jay Huff from the Memphis Grizzlies. Indiana will send Memphis a second-round round pick, as well as the rights to swap a future second-round pick.

Memphis will clear a bit more room under the salary cap, as they create the room necessary to renegotiate-and-extend the contract of Jaren Jackson Jr.

The Pacers get some additional center depth on an affordable contract in Huff. In his most extensive NBA action last season, Huff averaged 6.9 points and nearly a block per game in 11.7 minutes per night off the Grizzlies bench.

Jaren Jackson Jr., Grizzlies Agree To Five-Year, $240M Renegotiate-And-Extend Deal

Jun 30, 2025 6:16 PM

Jaren Jackson Jr. and the Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a five-year, $240 million maximum renegotiate-and-extend deal. The Grizzlies entered the offseason prioritizing signing Jackson to a long-term contract. Because Jackson didn't win Defensive Player of the Year or make an All-NBA team, the Grizzlies had to do a renegoatied deal in order to give Jackson his max deal. Jackson is represented by Austin Brown and Max Saidman of CAA.

Memphis is resetting their team this offseason following their trade of Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic, but will continue building around Jackson and Ja Morant.

Jackson would have been an unrestricted free agent next offseason without the extension as he was on a $23.4 million expiring contract. Jackson will hold a player option for the final season of the deal.

Last season, Jackson averaged 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.5 blocks in 74 games. Jackson won Defensive Player of the Year in 2023.
