Jul 7, 2025 10:17 PM

Malcolm Brogdon will likely remain unsigned until after Bradley Beal's situation is resolved. Brogdon has received interest from the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings and Milwaukee Bucks.

The Washington Wizards are open to sign-and-trade discussions involving Brogdon.

Brogdon appeared in 24 games this past season with the Washington Wizards, averaging 12.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 23.5 minutes. Brogdon is 32 and has played for four different teams over the past four seasons as he played out the remainder of his two-year, $45 million extension signed with the Indiana Pacers in 2021.

No Traction On Jonathan Kuminga Contract; Kings Have Been Strongest Pursuer

Jul 7, 2025 8:43 AM

Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, like most restricted free agents this offseason, has been stuck in a holding pattern. With very little cap space available this summer, rival teams don't have the ability to put pressure on incumbent teams with offer sheets. That's left restricted free agents like Kuminga waiting to figure out their next contract.

As of now, Kuminga has had no traction towards a new deal, either with the Warriors or another team. Several teams have been reported as having interest in a sign-and-trade for the talented young forward, with the Sacramento Kings having the most interest of that group.

It appears that Kuminga, along with players like Josh Giddey of the Chicago Bulls and Cam Thomas of the Brooklyn Nets, will have to wait as their restricted free agency drags out a little longer.

Nuggets Inform Jonas Valanciunas They Intend For Him To Honor Contract

Jul 6, 2025 4:41 PM

The Denver Nuggets have informed Jonas Valanciunas and his representatives that they intend for him to honor his NBA contract. Valanciunas met with Panathinaikos in Greece over the weekend, and reportedly has a three-year, $12 million offer from the EuroLeague power.

The Nuggets are acquiring Valanciunas from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Dario Saric in a pending trade. The veteran center is seen as an ideal backup for Nikola Jokic, which has been a troublesome spot for Denver in recent years.

Valanciunas is owed $10.4 million for this season, with a non-guaranteed $10 million contract for the 2026-27 season. It's unknown what the Nuggets plans are for the second year of Valanciunas' deal, but they expect him to be in Denver this season.

Nuggets Will Complete Jonas Valanciunas Trade; Determined To Keep Valanciunas In Denver

Jul 5, 2025 8:26 PM

The Denver Nuggets will complete the trade to acquire Jonas Valanciunas from the Sacramento Kings, despite mutual interest between the veteran center and Greek club Panathinaikos. Denver is sending Dario Saric to Sacramento in exchange for Valanciunas.

The Nuggets are also determined to convince Valanciunas to stay in the NBA as their backup center behind Nikola Jokic. Valanciunas cannot sign with Panathinaikos unless Denver grants him his release.

It's been speculated the Valanciunas could give back some, or even all, of his NBA salary in a buyout to be able to sign in Greece. He reportedly has a three-year, $12 million deal from Panathinaikos.

Warriors Looking For 'Promising Young Player,' First-Round Pick For Jonathan Kuminga

Jul 4, 2025 1:41 AM

The Golden State Warriors are looking for a "promising young player" and a first-round pick in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

The Kings offered Devin Carter, Dario Saric, and two second-round picks for Kuminga, though the Warriors felt that was a low-ball trade package.

The Wizards most recently registered interest in Kuminga, with the Heat, Bulls, Bucks, and Nets also showing different levels of interest.

Kuminga is searching for a situation where he would be a featured part of a core.

The two sides have plans to meet face-to-face during Summer League in Las Vegas.

Kuminga's return to the Warriors next season is also still on the table.

The Warriors currently have the ability to match any deal Kuminga signs after extending a $7.9 million qualifying offer.

Jonas Valanciunas, Nuggets Have Ongoing Talks Amid His Offer From Panathinaikos

Jul 3, 2025 5:56 PM

Jonas Valanciunas and the Denver Nuggets are having ongoing conversations amid a lucrative offer he has received from Panathinaikos in Greece. Valanciunas was traded by the Sacramento Kings to the Nuggets this week for Dario Saric. That trade will still move forward regardless of whether Valanciunas decides to remain in the NBA or return to Europe. The Kings need the trade of Valanciunas for Saric to be executed in order to move forward due to the salary cap implications involving their other offseason business.

Valanciunas signed a three-year, $30 million contract with the Washington Wizards last offseason and was subsequently traded to the Kings at the deadline. Valanciunas would give the Nuggets valuable rotation minutes at center behind Nikola Jokic.

Jonathan Kuminga Could Agree To Short-Term Deal With Warriors; Heat, Kings, Bulls, Pelicans Registering Interest

Jul 2, 2025 2:17 AM

Jonathan Kuminga could re-sign with the Golden State Warriors on a short-term deal, according to Jake Fischer of The People's Insider.

Both Kuminga and the Warriors were prepared for a slowly developing market for the restricted free agent.

The Heat, Bulls, Kings, and Pelicans are interested in Kuminga at varying levels, though each team has challenges in adding the forward.

The Heat are currently balking at Kuminga's potential $30 milliion-per-year price point and have also been linked with DeMar DeRozan and John Collins.

The Bulls are also hesitant of adding Kuminga's salary, with the Warriors no longer interested in acquiring Nikola Vucevic.

The Pelicans have also registered interest in Kuminga but have no easy path to add the forward while staying out of the luxury tax.

The Kings could include Malik Monk in a deal for Kuminga but no trade package has materialized with the Warriors.

The Los Angeles Clippers are waiving Drew Eubanks, who his planning to sign a one-year deal with the Sacramento Kings. The Kings traded Jonas Valanciunas to the Denver Nuggets to create enough space to sign Dennis Schroder.

Russell Westbrook Unlikely To Sign With Knicks Or Kings

Jul 1, 2025 2:21 PM

Russell Westbrook has received interest from the New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings, but both teams now appear unlikely to be able to sign him. The Knicks had interest, but instead have signed Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele in free agency.

The Kings considered executing a sign-and-trade for Dennis Schroder, but they will now sign him outright and that now makes also signing Westbrook complicated because Malik Monk remains in what would currently be a crowded backcourt.

Westbrook spent last season with the Denver Nuggets and had some strong moments, but generally uneven play. The Nuggets brought back Bruce Brown Jr. this offseason two seasons after helping them win the 2023 NBA championship.

Westbrook averaged 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.4 steals in 27.9 minutes across 75 games with the Nuggets.
